Charcoal on paper portrait of an African woman by Irma Stern (South Africa / Europe, 1894-1966). Signed and dated at the upper right. Framed The work was exhibited in Moscow in 1957 at VDNKH during the International Festival of Youth and Students and was probably used for political purposes against apartheid in South Africa. The piece was in the collection of Pavel Petrovich Hozhatelev, a Head of the Yekaterinburg Art Institute from 1956-58. Hozhatelev owned the work until 1987 and then the artworks were exhibited at Viktor Makhotin’s gallery in 1987 during the exhibition "Station of Fee Mails".
