ANTIQUE ARMS, ARMOR AND MILITARY DECORATIONS
Embroidered sleeve patch for German Wehrmacht Army worn by Russian Foreign Volunteer Unit. And another worn by members of the Waffen-SS 1st Galician Division. Formed from volunteers in the region of Galicia, composed largely of Ukrainians with some Czechs and Slovaks. It fought on the Eastern front before being mostly destroyed in August 1944, it was later reformed into the 1st Division of the Ukrainian National Army which surrendered to the Western Allies in 1945. Yellow lions with 3 crowns on light blue.
