A Presentation Hutschenreuther Selb Kunstabteilung Germany white glazed porcelain grouping depicting young naked man and woman. Signed on the base: Für Verdienste um den Lebensborn e. V. SS Ostubaf. Pflaum. (for the service rendered to the Lebensborn e. V.). Marked on the verso with underglaze manufacturer’s marks.Circa 1940 or earlier.Footnote:Lebensborn e.V. (literally: "Fount of Life") was an SS-initiated, state-supported, registered association in Nazi Germany with the goal of raising the birth rate of Aryan children of persons classified as ‘racially pure’ and ‘healthy’ based on Nazi racial hygiene and health ideology. The piece was presented to General Karl Pflaum, a Commander of the 157th Reserve Infanterie Division in France Sept 1942 – 44.
