Celluloid grip, pommel shaped as a crown of the Emperor Rudolf II, 1576-1612, enamel insignia on the cross guard, all metal parts are nickel plated, blade is stamped on ricasso by Vienna maker "ZEITLER WIEN". Complete with belt frog, hangers, and knot, all in mint condition. The dagger is a rare and difficult to find, because after the Anschluss in 1938, Austrian pilots were issued German Luftwaffe daggers and apparently the Austrian models were returned for recycling. Ref.: Robert J Berger, World of Dress Daggers, 1997, pp.17-18.

Knot, frog and hangers are in mint condition, enamel on the insignia all intact in, celluloid handle has hairline cracks but is solid and all intact, loss of some nickel plating on the blade, few minor dings on the otherwise good scabbard.
