AUCTION 22: FALL EUROPEAN DECORATIVE ART AUCTION on September 20 2020 11:00 AM
An exquisite neoclassical bronze vase created by France’s leading bronze manufactory – Barbedienne. The Barbedienne Foundry was founded by Ferdinand Barbedienne in 1838. The vase has a neck with a gilded decorative border, two gilded handles in the form of twisted acanthus leaves, and a pedestal, also decorated with a gilded border. However, the main decoration of the vase is a masterfully executed composition of embossed ivy leaves and the sly face of antique satyr peeking out of them.
