A skillfully designed wall-hanging decoration with three rabbits made by the Grand Ducal Majolica Factory, Karlsruhe. The border inscription: "Rabbits "Der Hasen und der Löffel drei, und doch hat jeder Hase zwei". The image of three rabbits depicts three jumping rabbits arranged in a circle. Three rabbits are arranged so that each rabbit has two ears, but only three ears are shown on the motif. The image of three rabbits appears in different places and in different cultures of the world. Its original meaning is not clear. This is often considered as an archetype. Tricephalus, triceps, or triton represent a similar form of combining figures, but with three human heads. In general, one speaks of trisymmetric figures of such a type as triskele.
