The quillons are cast as eagles. The obverse features the ancient symbol of the Fasces. The reverse of the guard features the cipher of the Mutilati; a sword flanked by two bayonets over a wreath of laurel leaves. The grip is ribbed in the center. A steel scabbard retains the original bluing finish. The blade has a pronounced central ridge, double-edged with a pointy tip. The blade is stamped with the maker’s mark "Frosolone". The crossguard is stamped with S/N 146.
