AUCTION 25 ORDERS AND DECORATIONS: A LONG ISLAND COLLECTION
An antique Russian Empire silver medal "For the life saving", after 1904. On the obverse, there is an image of the Russian Emperor Nicholas II (1894 – 1917) in profile, an inscription in Russian BY THE MERCY OF GOD NICHOLAS II THE EMPEROR AND AUTOCRAT OF ALL RUSSIA. On the reverse, at the bottom left, there are engraved three branches, oak, palm and laurel next to the inscription in Russian "FOR THE LIFE SAVING." The surface of the medal is sufficiently worn and has scratches. Weight: 0.5 oz., 16 g.
