AUCTION 25 ORDERS AND DECORATIONS: A LONG ISLAND COLLECTION
An antique Russian copper medal "In memory of the opening of the new Syassky and Svirsky canals". On the obverse, there are portraits of Alexander I, Catherine II, Alexander II, and Alexander III and in the center is the date – 1883. On the reverse, there is an inscription: “Old Syassky Canal (10 1/4 ver.) Started in 1766, completed in 1802; The Old Svir Canal (48 ver.) Started in 1802, completed in 1810 New Syassky (9 1/2 ver.) And Svirsky canals started in 1878, Syassky finished in 1880, and Svirsky in 1882". Very good collectible condition.
