Yakov Vassilieff (Russian engraver, 1730 – 1760), follower to Mikhail Ivanovich Makhaev (illustrator, 1718 — 1770) engraving: "Prospectus of the newly built chambers against the Anichkovskys from the eastern side with part of St. Petersburg and the Nevskaya prospective road from the Fontanka River." Russian text to the left, in French right. Makhaev’s work was supervised by Giuseppe Valeriani (1708 (?) — 1761) — an Italian artist of the late Baroque era, engaged in painting and scenography. Vasiliev’s work was supervised by Ivan Alekseevich Sokolov (1717-1757), a Russian copper engraver. The engraving was printed on vellum paper, after 1853. This engraving is one of a series of twelve engravings that were supposed to frame the plan of St. Petersburg by I.F. Truscott.
