An antique masonic medal of a very unusual form. The outer part consists of five white crescents with lotus flowers and white stars, which alternate with relief images of Egyptian sphinxes. At the center, there is a red rim with an inscription "MIZPAH TEMPLE FORT WAYNE" and a blue circle with the image of a pyramid, a crescent moon with a star, and lettering: "A.A.O. / N.M.S. / Apr. 27.09". The colored enamel surfaces are in excellent condition, the gilding has worn in some places. Footnote: One hundred and twenty-five years ago an internationally prominent actor and a physician designed what eventually became the Ancient Arabic Order Mystic Shrine of North America. From that beginning, it has grown to be one of the greatest Fraternal and charitable organizations in history.
