AUCTION 29: MILITARY ORDERS, DECORATIONS, ARMS AND ARMOR
Tombak base metal shell features silvered devices throughout with the undamaged center Saxony coat of arms. The shell shows an extra hole to the interior and repair to the front of the helmet and enamel repair to the cocarde. Tombak silver lion shows light patination with no damage or excessive wear. The chinstrap scales are complete showing no damage and are correctly attached to the helmet with a three-leaf clover device. Replaced interior shows wear/age with damage to the sweatband.Provenance: the helmet was purchased at Thies & Johnson Military Auctions.
