Alexander Pavlovich Brullov (1798 – 1877), pastel on paper painting depicting a girl in a white dress with blue ribbons with a basket full of roses nearby. Signed at the lower right: A. Brulloff. Alexander Pavlovich Bryullov is a Russian architect, draftsman, and watercolor painter, academician, Honored Professor of the 1st degree in the architecture of the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. One of the founders of the "Pompeian style" in Russian architecture of the period of historicism. The elder brother of the painter Karl Pavlovich Bryullov.
