Genre scene of a likely Prussian infantryman carving toys for two children. Circa 1880, after the Franco-Prussian War. Illegible signed at the lower right. Professionally framed in a richly decorated gilt-wood frame.
Dimensions: 9 7/8 x 8 in., (25 x 20 cm.)
Condition: Very good, with a tiny chip on the upper corner of the canvas. The frame has few chips.
