AUCTION 31: ANTIQUE ARMS, ARMOR AND DECORATIONS
Beautiful antique hunting hanger (dagger) with a decorated cast-iron handle. The blade is double-edged, pointy with grooves on both sides. At the quillon there is an image of a buffalo on the one side and a lion on the other, fighting with hounds. The quillons ending in the heads of lions. On the grip, there are two mythological scenes featuring Heracles, one depicting Heracles and the Nemean lion, the other Heracles and Antaeus. The scabbard is made of stitched brown leather mounted with steel fittings.
