AUCTION 32: APRIL 2022 DECORATIVE AND FINE ART SALE
A wonderful Russian cased gilt-silver tea serving set by A. Tillander. Presented in its original case, marked by A. Tillander, Helsingfors. The pieces are stamped with Russian and Finnish hallmarks and date 1888. The utensils are decorated with an engraved owner’s monogram. A date 1951 was additionally stamped later. Footnote: The firm of A. Tillander was established by Alexander Tillander in Russia in 1860. After the Revolution of 1917, the firm was forced to closed and the Tillander family moved their business to Helsinki.
