AUCTION 32: APRIL 2022 DECORATIVE AND FINE ART SALE
An Art Nouveau period oil on canvas painting depicting a lady in a black dress and a hat with a feather sitting in an interior with Japanese fans, attributed to Francois Adolphe Grison (French, 1845 – 1914). Signed and dated 1889 lower right. Francois Adolphe Grison was a French genre painter. He was schooled at Lequien and exhibited a number of genre paintings at the Paris Salon from 1873. In 1883 Grison joined the Societaire des Artiste Francais, gaining an honorable mention in 1885 as well as a third-class medal in 1890.
