Antique Imperial Russian Orthodox icon, depicting "Jesus Pantocrator, " hand-painted in tempera on board in a classic pose, holding the New Testament with right hand held up in benediction. 84 gilt-silver riza or oklad decorated with chasing and engraving, cut out to show head and hands. Hallmarks: 84, 1896, maker: AMM.
