AUCTION 32: APRIL 2022 DECORATIVE AND FINE ART SALE
The pair of icons used to be a part of the Royal Gates triptych, composed of six medallions deicing the Life of Christ from the Nativity to Resurrection and six accompanying images or six saints including St. Peter and St. Sofia. The icons are painted by using levkaz (gesso) and tempera on wood. Mid. 19th century.
Dimensions: Each: 21 1/16 x 9 1/16 in., (53.5 x 23 cm.)
