William Gilbert Gaul, oil on canvas painting "The Aftermath (the Spanish American War)" depicting wounded soldiers in a field hospital, circa 1898. Signed by the artist lower right. William Gilbert Gaul (1855–1919) was a late 19th and early 20th-century American painter and illustrator of military subjects ranging from the American Civil War to World War I, as well as American Western vistas and scenes.
Dimensions: 35 x 26 1/2 in., (89 x 72.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall, minor sratches to the surface.
