Fruit vase or compote, from the Golden Service, made by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg circa 1900 – 1917. The Golden Service was commissioned by the Imperial Porcelain Factory in April 1828 for the Gatchina Palace. The porcelain service consisted of dining and dessert parts, was designed for 60 persons and initially included 606 items. The sculptural decoration was carried out under the direction of S.S. Pimenov with the participation of the model master A.I. Voronikhin, the painting works were supervised by the master A.S. Kanunnikov. In the future, the service was supplemented with items to replace the lost ones until the beginning of the 20th century. This fruit bowl was made during the reign of Emperor Nicholas II (1894 – 1917). Marked on the bottom with a green cipher of Emperor Nicholas II. References: "Imperial Porcelain Factory, " p. 371.
