Alexandra Aleksandrovna Exter (Russian, French, 1882 – 1949), watercolor on paper drawing with a theater costume design for the mystery "Annunciation" by Paul Claudel. Signed "Alex. Exter" on the lower left.Footnote: Alexandra Exter (or Ekster), the suprematist and constructivist painter, designer, and co-founder of the Art Deco movement, was born on January 6, 1882, in Belostock, Russia. In 1907, she studied at the Kyiv art school, then at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Montparnasse, Paris. From 1908 to 1924, Exter lived in Kiev, St. Petersburg, Odesa, Paris, Rome, and Moscow. In 1908, Exter showed up together with the members of the group "Zveno" in Kiev.
