AUCTION 37 ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
A rare prototype of the Stalingrad campaign shield was never put into production due to the Germans’ defeat to the Soviet Red Army at Stalingrad. This prototype is similar to other German campaign shields with attachment prongs and is set on a wool patch with paper backing. The shield is heavily rusted and has remains of a wool patch and paper backing.
Dimensions: 2 1/2 x2 in., (6.4 x5 cm.)
