A Russian porcelain Easter egg made by the Imperial Porcelain Factory in the second half of the 19th c. The oval glazed picture on the front side depicts Jesus Crist’s ascension to heaven. The edge of the oval is gilded.Provenance: Bonhams, the Oxford Fine Sale, 18 February 2015, 10:00 GMT, lot 503.

Condition: Very good with some of the gilding faded.
