Montenegro, 2nd Model, a badge of the multi-piece construction, executed in silver with red, white and blue enamels, Austria, hallmarked with a dog’s head and (.800 silver), Diana’s head (Dianakopf) hallmark, that was used between 1872 and 1922, the number "3" to the left of her head indicating the silver fineness and the letter "A" to the right of her head indicating the city of the assay (Vienna) and maker marked "VM" (Vincent Mayer Sons, Vienna) on the ring, 50.2 mm x 74.5 mm inclusive of its crown suspension, on a full-length neck ribbon. The breast star: multi-piece construction, gold cypher and lettering on silver with a red, white and blue enameled cross, mounted to a sixteen-pointed starbase, the dual city marked "A" (Vienna) on the pin, maker marked "VINC. MAYER’S SÖHNE WIEN" (Vincent Mayer Sons, Vienna) on the reverse cartouche, 72.2 mm x 73 mm, vertical pinback. Very minor contact evident in the red enamels on the obverse centerpiece on the badge, near extremely fine.
