AUCTION # 33 ANTIQUE ARMS, ARMOR & DECORATIONS
A bronze figurine titled "Laplander riding a deer", signed by Artur Hoffman at the bottom. Artur Hoffmann (1874-1960) German sculptor who studied under Gerhard Janensch at the Berlin Academy until 1903. His bronze and wooden sculptures were exhibited from 1900 to 1920 at the annual Great Berlin Art Exhibition and received the Grand State Prize in 1903. His most well-known commissioned works include the Essen Relief with the representation of Krupp steelmaking.
