Boris Efimov (Russian, Soviet, c.1900 – 2008), watercolor and ink on card caricature drawing depicting the United States of America in the form of a man who is overcome by various crises: military, political, economic, social, etc., 1972. Signed by the artist and dated ‘72 on the lower right, also signed in pencil on the upper right corner. Inscribed in Russian on the lower left margin: “Poems by A. Zharinov.”Note: Boris Yefimovich Yefimov was a Soviet, Russian and Ukrainian political cartoonist best known for his critical political caricatures of Adolf Hitler and other Nazis produced before and during the Second World War, and was the chief illustrator of the newspaper Izvestia.

Condition: Very good, no tears or orhter damage.
